1. Who are we?
VergelijkTaxi.nl is a trade name of Forward Tech Solutions, located at Vlierweg 12, 1032 LG Amsterdam, and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 72966440.
VergelijkTaxi.nl is an online platform where you can compare various taxi drivers on price and availability, and book a ride directly. We are not a carrier ourselves — the ride is performed by an independent driver connected to our platform.

2. Which data do we process?
When you book a ride via VergelijkTaxi.nl we collect the following data: your first and last name, phone number, email address, pickup address, destination, requested pickup time, and number of passengers.
In addition, we automatically collect technical data about your visit to our website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is processed in anonymised form for analytics purposes.
We do not process special categories of personal data (such as health or religious information).
3. Why do we process this data?
We use your data to forward your booking request to connected drivers, so they can make an offer and perform the ride.
We also use your contact details to send you confirmations, status updates, and any important information about your ride (by email or WhatsApp).
Finally, we use anonymous usage data to improve our website, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract with you) for establishing and executing your booking.
For improving our services and securing our systems, we rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
For certain cookies we ask your prior consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. Who do we share your data with?
To execute your ride, we share your booking data with the connected driver(s) you have selected or who have accepted your request. These drivers are independent entrepreneurs who are themselves responsible for processing your data during the ride.
In addition, we use the following processors, who process your data under our responsibility:
• Google (Google Maps / Places API) — for address autocomplete and route calculation.
• Microsoft (Clarity) — for anonymous website usage analytics and heatmaps.
• Twilio SendGrid — for sending transactional emails (booking confirmations, status updates).
• MongoDB Atlas — for secure storage of booking data.
• Google Cloud Platform — for hosting our applications.
We do not sell your data to third parties and do not use it for marketing without your consent.
6. Retention periods
Booking data is retained for as long as necessary to execute the ride, and thereafter for a maximum of 7 years in connection with our statutory record-keeping obligation (Dutch tax authorities).
Anonymous usage data (Clarity, analytics) is retained for a maximum of 12 months.
When you indicate that you no longer wish to use our platform, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it longer.
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
Access to personal data within our team is limited to staff who need it for their work.
8. Cookies
We place functional cookies that are necessary for the correct operation of the website (for example your language preference). These cookies are placed without consent.
For analytical cookies (Microsoft Clarity) we use anonymised data. For other cookies we ask your prior consent.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
• Right of access — you may request which data we process about you.
• Right to rectification — you may have incorrect data corrected.
• Right to erasure — you may ask us to delete your data.
• Right to restriction — you may ask us to restrict processing.
• Right to data portability — you may request your data in a common format.
• Right to object — you may object to certain processing.

If you disagree with how we process your data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
